Website Launch / Pilot

A website that looks finished because the work is finished.

Shopstead Website Launch is a bounded entry offer for established owner-led service businesses with a weak, dated, confusing, incomplete, or absent website. We structure the content, build the site, test it on real devices and browsers, put the domain and hosting under your control, prove the launch, and hand it off.

Fixed Scope

Enough scope to launch well. Clear limits so it stays a project.

Included

Standard Website Launch

  • Five core marketing pages finalized at kickoff.
  • One owner interview plus normal intake of approved business facts and assets.
  • Core website copy drafted and organized from client-supplied and client-approved facts.
  • Custom responsive implementation using the Shopstead delivery process.
  • Basic local SEO foundations, sitemap, robots directives, and appropriate structured data.
  • One contact or quote-capture path with delivery testing.
  • Domain and hosting setup on client-controlled accounts.
  • Production acceptance, rollback copy, ownership handoff, and 14-day support window.

Separately scoped

Not forced into the pilot

  • Extra pages, large content migrations, or major positioning rewrites.
  • E-commerce, memberships, portals, or custom applications.
  • Complex scheduling, booking, CRM, ERP, telephony, or custom integrations.
  • Photography, video production, or a large brand-identity project.
  • Ongoing SEO, advertising, social media, publishing, or reputation management.
  • Open-ended maintenance or managed hosting retainers.
  • Broader Business Systems work unless a separate operating problem is directly confirmed and qualified.

Implementation Sequence

The website is treated like a small operating system.

Every stage closes a specific risk: wrong facts, weak structure, fragile implementation, unproved production behavior, or unclear ownership.

01

Intake

Confirm the business facts, proof, service area, desired call to action, and the claims the owner authorizes.

02

Structure

Lock the five-page information architecture and organize practical copy around what the visitor needs to understand.

03

Build

Implement a custom responsive site in a non-production workspace with accessible navigation and deliberate mobile behavior.

04

Prove

Test layouts, links, calls to action, the contact path, metadata, assets, HTTPS behavior, and production-specific requirements.

05

Handoff

Preserve the accepted source and rollback package, confirm client-controlled accounts, and reduce temporary Shopstead access.

06

Exit

The accepted site remains under the client's control. The 14-day window covers launch defects and minor in-scope corrections.

Acceptance / Not vibes

The launch has a finish line.

A site is accepted only when the scoped result reconciles as a whole. The exact checklist varies with the engagement, but the standard pilot requires these classes of proof.

Approved content

All scoped pages are present with client-approved factual content and no draft placeholders.

Working paths

Navigation, external links, buttons, and primary calls to action go where they are supposed to go.

Contact proof

The agreed contact or quote path is tested end-to-end to the approved destination.

Responsive behavior

Representative desktop and mobile layouts are usable without obvious overflow or blocking defects.

Accessibility basics

Keyboard navigation, visible focus, labels, semantic headings, and meaningful image alternatives are present where applicable.

Production hygiene

HTTPS, canonical domain behavior, metadata, sitemap, robots rules, and applicable structured data are verified.

Asset integrity

No required production asset, internal page, or link is left broken.

Recovery

A rollback/source package matching the accepted launch is preserved.

Ownership

Domain, hosting, source, and required accounts end in client control with the support window recorded.

Ownership is part of the design

Shopstead should not become a dependency just because we built the site.

BUILD

Shopstead implements

We use only the access required to build, test, and prove the launch.

PROVE

Acceptance closes the work

Production behavior is checked against the agreed scope and the accepted source is preserved.

HANDOFF COMPLETE

The client owns the operating surface

Domain, hosting, site files, and required account control remain with the client.

Positioning Firewall

A weak website proves a website problem. Nothing more.

Shopstead remains a Business Systems & Operations Implementation firm. Website Launch is a bounded entry offer, not a pretext to diagnose a client's CRM, intake, scheduling, follow-up, staffing, or other operations. Broader work is discussed only if the client directly confirms a separate operating problem worth qualifying.

Website Launch

If the public website is the problem, fix the public website.

The first conversation is a fit and scope check. If the standard five-page pilot fits, the engagement has a defined price, revision rule, acceptance checklist, ownership model, and exit.
